Governance
Montgomery County CERT is governed by the Executive Committee which is comprised of four Montgomery County CERT elected officers and a representative of MCFRS who is authorized to commit resources in support of Montgomery County CERT (generally the CERT Program Manager).
Elected Officers
There are four elected officers in Montgomery County CERT. Elections are held once a year. Candidates for elective positions must be registered in the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service's Personnel Information Management System and a member in good standing for at least one year from the beginning of the month in which the election is to take place.

Appointed Coordinators
In order to be appointed to a coordinator position, a Montgomery County CERT member must be in good standing for at least six months. Appointed coordinator positions include:

Steering Committee
The Steering Committee consists of all elected officers and all appointed coordinators, as well as the Montgomery County CERT Program Manager. Additional CERT members who are interested in assuming ongoing responsibilities within the CERT program are invited to join the Steering Committee.
